A two nation holiday survey

Summary

Our project will investigate the vacational tendencies of a group of teenagers from different socio-economic backgrounds stretching from a large comprehensive school in a rural community to a smaller secondary school in a large european capital city. El proyecto investigará los hábitos de vacaciones de un grupo de adolescentes que provienen de diferentes entornos socioeconómicos que van de una escuela secundaria situada en una comunidad rural británica, a un instituto de secundaria ubicada en una capital española.

Stage 1

Interviews - Teachers from both centres have been interviewed about their holidays. They used their native languages (english and spanish). These initial interview will be used by students from both centres as exemplary material to help in producing their own surveys. Entrevistas: se realizó una entrevista a los profesores de ambos centros sobre sus vacaciones. Usaron su lengua materna. Estas entrevistas se usarán como ejemplo para la investigación de los alumnos.

Stage 2

Example questionaire to be completed by students during their investigation. Cuestionario a completar por los alumnos en la investigación.

Stage 3

British students interviewing each other about their holidays. Entrevistas de los alumnos españoles acerca de sus vacaciones.

Stage 4

The findings: students present a written paragraph in the third person of a Spanish student holiday details. Resultados: los alumnos realizan un documento en el que indican lugares típicos de veraneo de los alumnos británicos, al igual que un estudio de las zonas turísticas británicas, añadiendo los enlaces web y un estudio sobre el porqué de estas preferencias.
